Day 1

PARENT DROP-OFF AND PICK-UP

Parent pick-up/drop-off is located at the main entrance of SMS. Parents are to follow the designated lines that form the parent pick-up/drop-off line. Students are required to be in homeroom by 7:45 to be marked present.

After 7:45 students must enter the building through the main entrance and sign in at the main office.

STUDENTS: Please be aware that you are not allowed in the building prior to 7:30. In the unfortunate case that you must be dropped off earlier than 7:15, you should be dropped off at the main entrance and must wait in the vestibule until the doors open at 7:30 to enter the building.

ATTENDANCE OFFICE

• All students must report to the attendance office, next to the main office, to sign in when coming to school late and sign out when being picked up early from school for appointments.
   
• When arriving to school late, you will need to sign in at the attendance window.
   
• When being picked up early, you will need to sign out prior to leaving at the attendance window.
   
• If you are leaving early, going on a vacation/trip, or have any type of event that you will not be in school, you will need an emergency permit filled out. Emergency permits can be found in front the attendance office, your homeroom teacher, or on the school website. Click here to obtain the emergency permit form.

TRANSPORTATION

There will be no bus passes issued by the main office. If there is an emergency and you need to address the drop off of your student, please contact the transportation department directly at 610-351-5690.

Parkland School District offers shuttle busses for those in athletics to Orefield Middle School and Parkland High School. The Orefield Middle School bus is bus #21. The Parkland High School bus is bus #35.

• If you are participating in an activity after school that is located at Orefield Middle School or Parkland High School, you need to take the after school shuttle busses.
   
• If you are going to OMS it is your responsibility to let your teacher know that you need to be dismissed at 2:33 pm so you can catch the shuttle bus (BUS #21) to Orefield Middle School. This bus will be located on the side of the building by the cafeteria, please use the Athletic Entrance/Exit to board the bus. The bus leaves promptly at 2:38 pm.
   
• If you are going to PHS you need to be dismissed at regular time. The high school shuttle bus (BUS #35) is also located on the side of the building by the cafeteria and will leave at approximately 2:45 pm. Again, please use the Athletic Entrance/Exit to board the bus.

• Attention all students! Are you passionate about writing, photography, reporting, drawing or graphic design? The Timberwolf Times Newspaper Club is looking for creative, enthusiastic new members to help cover school events, write compelling stories, conduct student and staff interviews, and design our upcoming issues! If you're interested in joining, paper applications are available outside Ms. Binder's room (A142) and Mr. Carnes's room (A168). Pick up an application, fill it out, and submit it to either classroom by Friday, September 11th. Don't miss your chance to share your voice and be part of the team that brings our school's story to life!
   
• Join us for our first rendition of Beats and Treats being held on Thursday, September 17th. The event takes place in the 8th grade common area. There will be live music and treats for purchase for $1-2. We appreciate your support of Student Council!
